C.A.N. Press is a publishing art practice devoted to preserving possibilities.

We believe books can be more than containers for stories. They can be objects, records, experiments, keepsakes, invitations, and ways of seeing.

Our practice uses story, language, writing, journaling, print, image, typography, and binding as creative materials. We make books and book-like works as a way of exploring what can be expressed, preserved, and passed on.

Some works may take the form of traditional picture books or journals. Others may become chapbooks, artist books, collections, or something without an easy category.

C.A.N. Press does not begin with the question, What is a book supposed to be?

Then we find its form.
